YOUTH4HEALTH: WHO/Europe Press Briefing in Tirana, Albania

WHO/Europe Press Briefing in Tirana, Albania

YOUTH4HEALTH

There are an estimated 1.8 billion young persons in the world today, over 332 million in the WHO European Region encompassing 53 countries across Europe and Central Asia.

Although they represent diverse geographies and cultures, they face many of the same challenges when it comes to their health and well-being. From the long-running COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on mental and physical health, to socioeconomic challenges impacting opportunities in life, to the climate crisis impacting the survival of our entire planet. And, not least, sexual and reproductive health and rights – especially for the most excluded and marginalized populations.

Yet, despite challenges, young people know what they want and they aren’t shy to express their opinions, expectations and ambitions – for themselves and the world around them.

We invite media partners to join us at a press briefing at the Youth4Health Summit, which brings together hundreds of young persons from across the WHO European Region together with government and civil society partners, to engage in genuine dialogue, build trust and find better ways to include young persons in policy decisions affecting their health and future.
