Troyes

Prefecture of the Aube (10).

It has 62,200 inhabitants, the Troyens or Troyennes.

Troyes and cycling:

Troyes is a cycling city, often on the road of the Tour: last arrival in 2017 for a success of Marcel Kittel. Paris-Troyes is one of the most beautiful amateur classics now open to continental teams. Marcel Bidot was from Troyes, a pillar of the UV Aube and Jacques Anquetil’s sporting director when he won his first Tour in 1957.

To see:

Pascal Caffet’s sweets, the Heart of Troyes, the Museum of Modern Art, Cathedral of Saint-Pierre and Saint-Paul, the cat alley.

Specialities:

Champagne, rosé from Riceys, andouillette, sauerkraut, cheeses (Chaource, Champ sur Barse and Mussy).

Bar-sur-Aube

Sub-prefecture of Aube (10).

Population: 4,900 (Baralbins and Baralbines or Barsuraubois and Barsurauboises).

Bar-sur-Aube and cycling :

Bar-sur-Aube has been vibrating on two wheels for almost half a century, towards the end of July, to the rhythm of its renowned and frantic cycling night. But the bicycle has suddenly extended its hold on the city of Bar-sur-Aube with, one after the other, a stage of the Tour de l’Avenir, last August, and then, in 2022, the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift.

To see:

St. Peter’s Church, Saint-Maclou Church, City Hall, Hotel of the Counts of Brienne.

Specialities:

Brienne sauerkraut, champagne sabayon.

The weather will be fine. Temperatures will vary between 15 and 26°C during the day.

THE TOUR COMMITS

Because of its status as a cycling race, the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift passes through sensitive areas such as Natura 2 000, regional nature parks, nature reserves… 28 Natura 2 000 areas will be crossed this year.

On this 4th stage, the riders of the peloton will cross the famous white paths, areas that are exciting from a sporting point of view but also sensitive.

To guarantee their protection, these areas are identified beforehand and work is carried out with local players and our naturalist consultancy to put in place a series of protective measures (parking ban, installation of protective nets and signs, ban on the passage or distribution of the caravan, etc.) and to ensure that the passage of the race does not impact on the fauna, flora and landscapes of these areas.
