Virtual press briefing at the global high-level technical meeting on noncommunicable diseases in humanitarian settings
When: Tuesday, 27 February 2024 at 17.00 CET / 16.00 GMT
To support integration of essential services for noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) in emergency preparedness and humanitarian response efforts, WHO, the Kingdom of Denmark, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Kenya, and UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency are jointly convening a global high-level technical meeting on NCDs in humanitarian settings on 27-29 February in Copenhagen, Denmark. WHO and UNHCR will jointly brief global journalists on the subject on the sidelines of the meeting.
Speakers will include:
- Dr. Mike Ryan, WHO Executive Director, Health Emergencies Programme
- Mr. Sajjad Malik, UNHCR, Director of Resilience and Solutions
- Dr. Hanan Balkhy, WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean
- Dr. Hans Kluge, WHO Regional Director for Europe.
